At Europcar, staff across branches juggle a wide range of time-sensitive tasks to keep the rental experience smooth: receiving returned vehicles, checking them for damage, preparing them for the next customer, and coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs. But these workflows were often fragmented, handled manually or across disconnected tools, leading to delays, inconsistencies, and employee frustration.


To address this, I joined the design effort for OSCAR—a new internal application built to bring structure, clarity, and efficiency to these daily operations. OSCAR supports three key workflows: vehicle return, delivery & collection, and vehicle preparation. The app guides employees through each process step-by-step, from inspecting tires and mechanical components during returns to confirming that a cleaned, road-ready car is ready for handoff.


The result is a streamlined, user-friendly tool that simplifies complex tasks, reduces human error, and helps Europcar staff stay focused on what matters most: keeping vehicles —and people—moving.

Shadowed station agents and managers on-site to observe real workflows, identify inefficiencies, and ground design decisions in authentic operational contexts.

Conducted in-depth sessions with country experts, station managers, and frontline agents, supported by targeted surveys to validate findings and guide iteration.
